Coast2Coast Rx announced today that the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) has endorsed its discount prescription card ? a program that has been vetted and approved by the County Board of Supervisors of 17 counties in California.
The Coast2Coast card earned CSAC?s endorsement for two reasons: it saves consumers up to 75 percent on prescriptions and it has the distinction of being the only prescription discount plan that gives back to the community by contributing $ 1.25 for each prescription filled to participating county programs.
Coast2Coast Rx card?s mission is to provide savings on thousands of prescription drugs while improving health outcomes by making the card available with no restrictions on age, income status, or existing health conditions. San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox knows firsthand the benefits of the Coast2Coast Rx card as he helped make the program available to residents of his county and, as a board member of CSAC, approved its endorsement of the program.
?Since San Diego County launched the program in June, more than 27,000 prescriptions have been filled and that has saved San Diegans more than $ 750,000,? said Supervisor Cox. ?The Coast2Coast card will help create revenues to support vital county programs and services, while saving money for county residents.?
The card can be a significant cost-saver for those without health insurance but it also can be effective for those with insurance who have high deductibles or prescriptions that are not covered under their current plan. In some instances the card can be used to offset the Medicare Part D ?donut hole.?
