The Alliance Group of Western New York, Inc. Wants Local Residents to Consider New York State Disability Insurance During Open Enrollment

(PRWEB) November 13, 2011

The team at the Alliance Group of Western New York knows that not many people consider their employee benefits on a regular basis. However, things like health coverage and NY State disability insurance should not be taken for granted. As open enrollment for company benefits is approaching for many New York workers, the Alliance Group of Western New York urges them to consider all of their options.

When it comes to NY State disability insurance, many employees opt out of coverage because they do not want to contribute to the costs that their employers do not cover. However, here are some things that workers should think about before making a final decision:

Employees who sustain injuries outside of work will not be eligible for workers? compensation benefits, so they would not be compensated for lost wages over any extended period of time.
Even people who work at companies that cover the cost of some disability insurance may require extra coverage, especially if they have children or dependents.
Workers can enroll in group disability coverage at any time, but those who wait until after open-enrollment periods may find that they are denied coverage later if they develop certain medical conditions.
Group policies can cover employees for up to two years if they cannot return to their job. These funds can be invaluable for New York residents who would otherwise be left without any income during this time.

The experts at the Alliance Group of Western NY understand that some companies may boast great group plans for health and dental coverage, but it?s also important for workers to consider their other options such as NY State disability insurance. While having this type of coverage may not appear to be an immediate necessity, it will certainly be worth the price if an individual were ever to face a situation in which they were disabled for a period of time.

About The Alliance Group of Western NY:

Founded in 1993, The Alliance Group of Western NY is an independent New York insurance agency. The California State Association of Counties Endorses Coast2Coast Rx Card

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2011

Coast2Coast Rx announced today that the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) has endorsed its discount prescription card ? a program that has been vetted and approved by the County Board of Supervisors of 17 counties in California.

The Coast2Coast card earned CSAC?s endorsement for two reasons: it saves consumers up to 75 percent on prescriptions and it has the distinction of being the only prescription discount plan that gives back to the community by contributing $ 1.25 for each prescription filled to participating county programs.

Coast2Coast Rx card?s mission is to provide savings on thousands of prescription drugs while improving health outcomes by making the card available with no restrictions on age, income status, or existing health conditions. In California alone, the card has allowed users to save more than $ 22,000,000 on prescription drugs, helping to ease the burden of health and medical expenses for those who need it most.

Among CSAC?s objectives are to improve the financial viability of all California counties and to educate the public about the importance of county programs. The Coast2Coast Rx card helps CSAC accomplish these goals by generating a revenue stream to support vital county programs and services while allowing constituents to save money on their prescription costs.

San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox knows firsthand the benefits of the Coast2Coast Rx card as he helped make the program available to residents of his county and, as a board member of CSAC, approved its endorsement of the program.

?Since San Diego County launched the program in June, more than 27,000 prescriptions have been filled and that has saved San Diegans more than $ 750,000,? said Supervisor Cox. ?The Coast2Coast card will help create revenues to support vital county programs and services, while saving money for county residents.?

The card can be a significant cost-saver for those without health insurance but it also can be effective for those with insurance who have high deductibles or prescriptions that are not covered under their current plan. In some instances the card can be used to offset the Medicare Part D ?donut hole.?

?We?re all feeling the effects of the economic downturn, so it is gratifying to know that the money generated from the Coast2Coast Rx card is being used to benefit residents; like in Amador and Alameda counties where funds support meals-on-wheels for homebound seniors and health programs respectively,? said Marty Dettelbach, Chief Marketing Officer of Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., the company that produces the Coast2Coast Rx card. ?With CSAC?s endorsement, we hope additional counties will be inspired to join this rewarding program for the good of the public.?

Offered at no cost and with no eligibility restrictions, the Coast2Coast Rx card saves consumers up to 75 percent on over 60,000 brand name or generic drugs at the 59,000+ participating pharmacies, which includes major chains and many independent establishments. Also available are discounts on certain dental, vision, hearing, lab services, diabetes supplies, and even some pet prescriptions. With no paper work to fill out, no required membership and no expiration date, the card is a simple way to save on health care expenses.

About Coast2Coast Rx Card

The mission of the Coast2Coast Rx Card is to provide a universe of prescription savings options while improving health outcomes. The Coast2Coast Rx Card has provided millions of dollars in savings on prescription drugs for its program members. A product of Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., a Florida corporation (?FMC?), that is a leader in the supplemental benefits field, the Coast2Coast Rx Card was developed as a result of the belief that the cost of products and services has risen so drastically that a need has arisen among many families to supplement these costs with benefit programs and prescription cards. Groundbreaking Ceremony for Paula Hampton State Farm Insurance

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) November 17, 2011

Paula Hampton State Farm Insurance broke ground Friday, September 16, 2011 on its existing site placing the new building closer to the highway with the parking lot in the rear. The new location is designed to preserve the majestic 100-year old Grand Oak trees on the property while allowing for the planting of many more trees and indigenous plants to the area.

During the past ten years, Paula Hampton?s State Farm insurance agency has occupied the well-known 1948 West Ashley house with the red roof and has simply out-grown it. After consulting engineers about expanding or adding on a second story, it was found that the home?s foundation and structure would not support an expansion. So the solution was to hire Harbor Contracting, LLC to build a new office while demolishing the existing buildings in an environmentally conscious manner. Harbor Contracting and Coast Architects worked with the owner to create and construct a building that is designed well and implements as many ?green? features as possible. Pete McKellar is the owner of Harbor Contracting, LLC and is a certified LEED AP.

The team at the Sustainable Warehouse systematically took apart the structures surrounding the main office prior to the new construction, and will remove the old office after Harbor Contracting completes the new building. The salvaged lumber and building materials will be recycled and sold at a discount at the Sustainable Warehouse located in North Charleston, SC.

Harbor Contracting, LLC is a commercial general contracting firm serving office, dental, healthcare, retail, resort, educational, industrial, and governmental clients throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry for over 25 years. Headquartered in Mount Pleasant, SC, the firm is fully bonded and insured with an unlimited General Contractor?s License Classification.
